Victorian teen charged over Bendigo fire

Police have charged a teenager over a bushfire in the Bendigo suburb of Kangaroo Flat in central Victoria.

The blaze was lit in a reserve on Crusoe Road about 10:30pm (AEDT) on Friday.

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with intentionally causing a bushfire and lighting a fire in the open air during a period of total fire ban.

He has been remanded to appear at a Children's Court tomorrow.
