NEW YORK (AP) — Shares of some top utilities companies were mixed at the close of trading:

American Electric Power Co. fell $.31 or .7 percent, to $43.24.

Consolidated Edison Inc. Holding Co. fell $.18 or .3 percent, to $55.91.

Dominion Resources Inc. rose $.21 or .4 percent, to $52.43.

Duke Energy Corp. rose $.32 or .5 percent, to $65.69.

Exelon rose $.03 or .1 percent, to $29.29.

PG&E rose $.08 or .2 percent, to $40.95.

Southern Co. fell $.06 or .1 percent, to $43.16.
