NEW YORK (AP) — Shares of some top telecom companies were down at the close of trading:
AT&T Inc. fell $.10 or .3 percent, to $34.27.
Sprint Nextel fell $.02 or .3 percent, to $5.92.
Verizon Communications Inc. fell $.29 or .7 percent, to $43.30.
