Germany's Goessner gets 3rd biathlon World Cup win
RUHPOLDING, Germany (AP) — Miriam Goessner of Germany captured her third biathlon World Cup victory after missing only one target in a women's 7.5-kilometer sprint race Friday.
Despite the shooting error, Goessner's speed on the cross-country trail gave her a 7.1-second win over Darya Domracheva of Belarus.
Kaisa Makarainen of Finland was third, 17.5 seconds behind the winner.
None of the top three managed to shoot cleanly and all had one missed target.
Tora Berger of Norway, who finished 12th, leads the season standings with 514 points, while Goessner is second on 437.
