A woman has died after her car collided with two utes and another car in central NSW.

The 59-year-old woman was driving along Castlereagh Highway in Cudgegong at lunchtime on Thursday when she veered onto the wrong side of the road, police said.

She then hit a ute and another car before colliding head-on with second ute.

After being trapped inside her car, the woman was released before dying a short time later.

The 43-year-old driver of the ute, which she had a head-on collision with, was taken to Dubbo Base Hospital with minor injuries.

An investigation into the crash is continuing.
