Man charged over mid-north coast shooting

A man who allegedly shot another man in the head on the mid-north coast has been charged by police.

Police said the 20-year-old shot a man, aged 32, on Darkun Road at Mullaway Bay about 5.30pm on Wednesday.

The victim suffered a number of gunshot wounds to his head and is now in a stable condition at Coffs Harbour Hospital.

The alleged shooter was arrested on Thursday morning at a residence at Woolgoolga, police said in a statement.

They charged him with shooting with intent to murder.

He was refused bail and is due to appear at Coffs Harbour Local Court on Friday.
