Queensland Arts Minister Ros Bates has blamed poor judgment and a pair of woolly slipppers for her 10-week absence.
Ms Bates returned to work this week after extended sick leave and an overseas holiday.
She originally took leave after returning to work from shoulder surgery, saying she needed more time to recover.
"I had no idea how severe the injuries were," she said.
Ms Bates extended the leave after injuring her back falling down stairs.
Ms Bates says her absence was in no way related to the investigation.
"I don't think Michael Caltabiano pushed me down the steps," she said.
"It was all health-related.
"I've always been happy to answer questions but the problem is most of these have been referred to either the Ethics Committee or the Crime and Misconduct Committee and I can't comment on it."
Ms Bates blames woolly slippers on polished floors for the fall.
The Minister says she does not regret going on a family holiday to Bali at the end of her leave and says she is across her portfolio and up to the job.
