Hospital support staff wages will increase by 4.5 per cent after they accepted a new enterprise bargaining agreement.

The union, United Voice says it is happy with the new pay and conditions which have taken nine months to achieve.

The Acting Secretary, Carolyn Smith says hospital workers now have security about rosters, redundancy and privatisation .

"Our members have got those assurances about changes to rostering, about redundancy and about the fact that not withstanding the privitisation of Fiona Stanley and the new Midland hospital, that there will be no further privitisation," she said.

"In the end a gruelling process but a really positive outcome for members. We've had some assurances about redundancies, we have had some assurances around rostering."
