NEW YORK (AP) — Shares of some top utilities companies were mixed at the close of trading:

American Electric Power Co. fell $.22 or .5 percent, to $43.15.

Consolidated Edison Inc. Holding Co. fell $.32 or .6 percent, to $56.03.

Dominion Resources Inc. fell $.29 or .6 percent, to $52.37.

Duke Energy Corp. rose $.15 or .2 percent, to $64.90.

Exelon fell $.26 or .9 percent, to $29.61.

PG&E rose $.20 or .5 percent, to $40.67.

Southern Co. fell $.12 or .3 percent, to $43.27.
