Kohl's Corp. fell $.16 or .4 percent, to $41.81.
Macy's Inc. fell $.60 or 1.6 percent, to $37.05.
Nordstrom fell $.52 or 1.0 percent, to $53.91.
J.C. Penney Co. fell $.97 or 4.9 percent, to $18.99.
Saks rose $.09 or .9 percent, to $10.56.
Sears Holdings Corp. fell $2.76 or 6.4 percent, to $40.16.
TJX Companies fell $.76 or 1.7 percent, to $43.50.
