A 20-year-old Middle Swan man has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm when he assaulted a 28-year-old man at a Midland hotel last Friday night.
The man was outside the Eastern Hotel in Midland when he was approached by a group of four others just before midnight.
After a brief argument, the 20-year-old allegedly ran at the victim and punched him in the head, breaking his jaw.
