The Rural Fire Service has issued an emergency warning for an out-of-control bushfire burning at Brogo in the Bega Valley.

The fire is expected to impact homes east of Warrigal Range Road or west of Eagles Nest Road by 12:45pm.

People in the area are able to leave now if the path is clear and should relocate to the Bega township.

The RFS is advising people to protect themselves from radiant heat and take the advice of fire fighters on the ground.

RFS Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons says there are about 20 homes in the area which are expected to come under threat.
