THE CEO OF AN ITALIAN FASHION HOUSE WITH WORLDWIDE REACH IS MISSING AFTER HIS PLANE DISAPPEARED FROM RADAR SCREENS OFF THE VENEZUELAN COAST.

THE PLANE CARRYING 58-YEAR-OLD VITTORIO MISSONI, HIS WIFE AND FOUR OTHERS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ON A SHORT FLIGHT WHEN IT WENT MISSING FRIDAY.

MISSONI IS THE CEO OF THE FASHION HOUSE THAT BEARS HIS NAME. IT'S ONE OF ITALY'S MOST FAMOUS FASHION BRANDS ABROAD--WITH ITS TRADEMARK ZIGZAG AND OTHER GEOMETRIC PATTERNS IN SWEATERS, SCARVES AND OTHER KNITWEAR.

VENEZUELA'S INTERIOR MINISTER SAID SATURDAY NIGHT THAT SEARCHERS WERE USING TWO AIRCRAFT AND TWO BOATS IN THEIR EFFORTS TO FIND THE

PLANE.

THE SEARCH WAS EXPECTED TO RESUME UNDER DAYLIGHT SUNDAY.

MISSONI IS BEING PRAISED IN THE NORTHERN ITALIAN TOWN THAT IS HOME TO THE COMPANY'S HEADQUARTERS.

(NATS IN ITALIAN)

THIS WOMAN SAYS THE MISSONI FAMILY IS VERY IMPORTANT--PROVIDING JOBS AND FUNDING EVENTS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE AND SCHOOLS.
