Jack and Ruby have seen a resurgence to once again top the list of Queensland's most popular baby names.
Jack retook the crown in 2012 from Cooper, which saw a three-year reign, while Ruby went back to number one after briefly being overtaken by Sophie in 2011.
Attorney-General Jarrod Bleijie released the top 10 most popular boys and girls names in Queensland for 2012 on Sunday.
"Naming a child is one of the most important things a parent has to do," he said in a statement.
"The names we choose for our children can define them for the rest of their lives, through all the highs and lows."
Mr Bleijie suggested the list could give inspiration to Prince William and his wife Catherine.
"With these results maybe a Princess Ruby or Prince Jack could be joining the royal family soon," he said.
