New York Times Co. fell $.26 or 2.9 percent, to $8.59.
News Corp. rose $.07 or .3 percent, to $26.95.
Time Warner Inc. fell $.14 or .3 percent, to $49.64.
Viacom Inc. rose $.39 or .7 percent, to $58.16.
