Medtronic rose $.42 or 1.0 percent, to $42.30.
St. Jude Medical Inc. rose $.11 or .3 percent, to $36.72.
Stryker rose $.29 or .5 percent, to $56.17.
Zimmer Holdings Inc. rose $.99 or 1.5 percent, to $68.69.
