Amgen Inc. rose $2.01 or 2.3 percent, to $88.21.
Biogen Idec rose $4.19 or 2.9 percent, to $150.56.
Celgene Corp. rose $2.06 or 2.6 percent, to $80.53.
Gilead Sciences Inc. rose $1.02 or 1.4 percent, to $74.47.
