Traffic is easing on the New South Wales coast after long holiday queues earlier in the day.

The flow has returned to normal along the Princes Highway on the south coast.

There are still some delays on the Pacific Highway between Macksville and Nambucca Heads on the north coast.

There had earlier been a south-bound queue of 14 kilometres between the two towns.

Traffic has also eased at Kempsey, which had earlier seen traffic jams of up to 10 kilometres.
