Man remains in custody over north Qld stabbing

A man accused of stabbing two people in north Queensland will spend another two months in custody after his latest court appearance.

Troy Andrew Atkins allegedly stabbed two elderly people last Saturday in the town of Greenvale near Charters Towers, south-west of Townsville.

Atkins has been charged with five offences including attempted murder.

During a brief appearance in Townsville Magistrates Court this morning he was remanded in custody, to appear in court in March.
