AUTHORITIES IN NEW YORK SAY THEY HAVE CHARGED A WOMAN WITH MURDER AS A HATE CRIME IN THURSDAYS KILLING AT A NEW YORK SUBWAY STATION -- THE SECOND TIME THIS MONTH A VICTIM HAS PUSHED OFF THE PLATFORM IN FRONT OF A SPEEDING TRAIN AND KILLED.

POLICE HAVE IDENTIFIED THE WOMAN AS 31-YEAR OLD ERICKA MENENDEZ.

FRIDAY, THEY RELEASED SURVEILLANCE VIDEO THEY SAY SHOWS HER FLEEING FROM THE STATION IN QUEENS.

THEY ALSO RELEASED A SKETCH OF HER.

POLICE SAY THEY ARRESTED MENENDEZ FOLLOWING A TIP FROM THE PUBLIC.

AND THEY SAY SHE TOLD INVESTIGATORS THAT SHE HATED MUSLIMS AFTER SEPTEMBER 11TH ATTACKS -- AND THOUGHT HE WAS ONE OF THEM.

THE VICTIM WAS FROM INDIA AND RAN A PRINTING SHOP.

BUT IT'S NOT KNOWN IF HE'S A HINDU OR A MUSLIM.

MENENDEZ COULD BE SENTENCED FROM 25 YEARS TO LIFE IF CONVICTED.
