NEW YORK (AP) — Shares of some top utilities companies were mixed at the close of trading:

American Electric Power Co. fell $.15 or .4 percent, to $42.64.

Consolidated Edison Inc. Holding Co. fell $.04 or .1 percent, to $55.42.

Dominion Resources Inc. fell $.09 or .2 percent, to $51.62.

Duke Energy Corp. fell $.36 or .6 percent, to $63.71.

Exelon fell $.02 or .1 percent, to $29.44.

PG&E rose $.22 or .6 percent, to $40.02.

Southern Co. fell $.14 or .3 percent, to $42.68.
