Man charged over road rage stabbing

A 63-year-old Tasmanian man has been charged over an alleged road rage incident which left another driver with stab wounds.

The man from Montrose, in the state's south, has been charged with wounding and possessing a dangerous article.

Police allege he stabbed a 37-year-old motorist in Glenorchy about 10am after the pair argued.

Police believe the altercation was prompted by one of the drivers failing to make a compulsory left turn at an intersection.

The man accused of the attack was released on bail to appear in court next month.

The other man's injuries are not life-threatening.

Police are calling on any witnesses to come forward.
