German company announces Alabama plant

AUBURN, Ala. (AP) — German auto supplier Rausch & Pausch is locating a plant in Auburn, Ala. that is expected to create 105 jobs within five years.

Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley joined company officials for the announcement Tuesday. Chairman Horst Pausch Sr. said the company based in North Bavaria, Germany, plans to have both its U.S. headquarters and a production facility in Auburn. The company produces solenoid valves, control blocks and other auto parts.

The Auburn plant represents an $18 million investment and is set to start production in fall 2013. It will supply Chrysler and German transmission manufacturer ZF.

The governor was in Lee County a little more than a year ago to celebrate the start of construction on a GE Aviation plant in Auburn and a Pharmavite dietary supplement plant in Opelika.
