FILL 'ER UP: By Monday, gasoline prices should drop under the current low for the year of $3.28 a gallon seen on Jan. 1. That's just in time for what's expected to be the business holiday travel season since 2006.

STILL PRICEY: Americans will still spend a record amount on gasoline for the second year in a row. The government says pump prices should average $3.63 a gallon in 2012, up 10 cents from last year's record of $3.53.

RELIEF AHEAD?: Forecasters expect the national average to be lower next year. The Energy Department is forecasting $3.43 a gallon.
