The State Opposition has joined unions in raising concerns about the lack of progress made in response to a bushfire in which an Albany firefighter was killed a year ago.

Wendy Bearfoot, 45, died from injuries suffered in a blaze at Two People's Bay, 12 months ago this Saturday.

An independent investigation found there was a lack of coordination between agencies involved and that firefighters were not warned of changing weather conditions.

Labor's Margaret Quirk says she is worried about a lack of progress in improving safety equipment, among other issues.

"It's not clear that that's being rolled out to the extent which is appropriate, we're still asking questions in Parliament to see the extent to which additional safety protection has been rolled out," she said.

The Emergency Services Minister Joe Francis has declined to comment.
