CHITTAGONG, Bangladesh (AP) — Opener Peter Fulton and Kane Williamson smashed half centuries to help New Zealand reach 186-2 at tea against Bangladesh on the first day of the first test Wednesday.

After losing Hamish Rutherford on 34, the duo built a 126-run partnership before Fulton was out for 73, minutes before the second interval. They added 90 runs in the middle session.

Fulton collected his total off 198 balls with seven boundaries and one six, while Williamson was 71 not out from 126 balls that included nine boundaries.

Resuming after lunch at 93-1, the visitors added another 93 to dominate the struggling bowlers.

Sohag Gazi and Nasir Hossain shared one wicket each.
