The Sandra Bullock-George Clooney space drama "Gravity" rocketed to the top of the US box office and into industry record books during its opening weekend.

The space adventure debuted with $55.5 million dollars in North American ticket sales, that's according to studio estimates.

It's the biggest October opening ever and the biggest openings for Bullock and Clooney.

The film also dominated the international box office, adding another $27.4 million from overseas.

Sean Penn says he's sponsoring five Haitian runners in the upcoming New York City marathon.

The actor was talking at the world premiere of his film "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty".

Penn is just back from Haiti where he met the runners.

The New York Marathon takes place November 3rd.

It's a boy for Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez.

A representative for the 47-year-old actress confirmed that the couple welcomed their son on Saturday.

It's the second child for Berry, who married Martinez in July.
