Since heavy rains flooded the MacGillivray and Haines areas in June, farmers are facing the challenge of no natural drainage out to sea. Local sheep owner Peter Lowering says the unique area of Kangaroo Island his farm is on and an absence of nearby creeks prevents the water from draining. Andrew Boardman, CEO of the Kangaroo Island Council says they are being selective about repairing roads because they are worried more damage than good is being done.
