A 16-year-old boy has appeared in court over the rape of a woman in her South Fremantle home at the weekend.

It is alleged he was armed with a knife when he broke into the house on Wesley Street in the early hours of Saturday morning and attacked the 23-year-old woman.

The teenager was not required to plead to six charges including aggravated burglary, sexual penetration without consent, unlawful wounding and threatening to kill the woman.

He was remanded in custody and will appear in the Perth Children's Court again in a fortnight.
