Ladies and gentlemen, behold the TomTato.

Described as a "veg plot in a pot" each plant can produce more than 500 tomatoes and a healthy crop of potatoes.

While it might sound like science-fiction, Michael Perry of Thompson and Morgan, a British company that produces the plants, says each TomTato plant is individually hand-grafted and not genetically engineered.

"It's a hundred percent natural, so no GMs involved, it is completely natural and safe and each plant is grafted by hand so a very, very delicate process."

And not only does the TomTato plant produce juicer crops, it's a brilliant way of saving space, says Perry.

"We've got less space in our gardens these days, we can't all get on the waiting list for allotments, we don't have veg patches, but these can be grown really really easily on the patio."

The TomTato plants will go on sale next spring for 15 British pounds each.
