Reality cooking shows may be on the nose.

Network Ten's new series Recipe To Riches, MasterChef and The Great Australian Bake Off all failed to make the top 10 on Tuesday.

Recipe To Riches is a unique reality cooking series, where the winning recipe on each episode is available for viewers to buy in Woolworths supermarkets the following day.

It launched on Ten on Tuesday night to an audience of 616,000 - the 19th most watched show for the evening.

It was a disappointing start for a series with plenty of potential, but it wasn't the only reality cooking show to struggle to muster a big audience.

The grand final of the Nine Network's The Great Australian Bake Off, won by Queenslander Nancy Ho, only amassed 760,000 viewers and was 13th overall.

MasterChef, which is in its final week and was the lead-in show to Recipe To Riches, fared slightly better.

The Ten cooking show drew 814,000 viewers to be 11th and not far behind UK comedy/drama series New Tricks on ABC1, which was 10th with 829,000 on OzTAM's overnight ratings.

The night was won by Nine News (1.276 million) ahead of Seven News (1.190 million) and A Current Affair (1.036 million).

The Seven Network's magic special Cosentino: The Magic, The Mystery, The Madness pulled 1.022 million viewers to be fourth.
