Two people have been charged with manslaughter in the protracted investigation into the death of a man in central Queensland.

Timothy John Pullen, 34, was last seen in April 2012 in the Mackay area.

In January, his parents Leanne and Gary Pullen made a public plea for information about their son, who at that time hadn't been heard from in nine months.

Police say a 31-year-old man has been arrested in Sydney, extradited to Queensland and charged with manslaughter.

He appeared before Brisbane Magistrates Court on Saturday and has been remanded in custody to reappear in the same court on August 7.

A 26-year-old Sarina woman has been arrested in Darwin and extradited to Queensland, also charged with manslaughter.

She is due to appear before the Mackay Magistrates Court on Monday.

A 22-year-old Mackay man charged with accessory after the fact to murder appeared before Mackay Magistrates Court on July 24 and is due to appear there again on October 4.

Investigations are continuing.
