An unlicensed Canberra driver has been found guilty over a car crash in which his son was killed.
Anthony Paton was drunk and speeding when his car crashed into another car on Gundaroo Drive near Crace in Canberra's north in July 2009.
His 29-year-old son was killed and a woman in the other car was injured.
Paton pleaded not guilty to culpable driving causing death and culpable driving causing grievous bodily harm.
But the ACT Supreme Court jury rejected that and found the 56-year-old was responsible for the crash and guilty of both charges.
His lawyer asked that he remain on bail because of his poor health.
But prosecutors succeeded in having his bail revoked on the basis he is likely to be sentenced to jail.
Paton will be back in court for sentencing next month.
