VOICE-OVER SCRIPT:

POPE FRANCIS IS GETTING HUGE WELCOMES IN RIO DE JANEIRO, AND NOW HE SAYS HE'S REALLY LOOKING FOR SOME EXCITEMENT.

THE POPE URGED YOUNG CATHOLICS TO SHAKE UP THE CHURCH AND MAKE A MESS IN THEIR DIOCESES.

POPE FRANCIS SAID IT'S TIME FOR CATHOLICS TO GET INTO THE STREET AND START SPREADING THEIR FAITH.

HE SAID ANY CHURCH THAT DOESN'T MAKE AN EFFORT TO SPREAD ITS MESSAGE THIS WAY IS ACTUALLY JUST A CIVIC ORGANIZATION.

THE POPE DEMONSTRATED WHAT HE WAS TALKING ABOUT ON THURSDAY, VISITING A VIOLENT SLUM IN NORTHERN RIO.

THE 76-YEAR-OLD PONTIFF WADED INTO CHEERING CROWDS, KISSING PEOPLE AND TELLING THEM THE CHURCH IS ON THEIR SIDE.

HIS SCHEDULE FOR FRIDAY INCLUDES MEETING WITH A SMALL GROUP OF CONVICTS, HEARING CONFESSIONS FROM YOUNG CATHOLICS AND HEADING TO COPACABANA BEACH FOR A STATIONS OF THE CROSS PROCESSION.
