SBS will televise the Tour de France until 2023 in a new deal with race organisers ASO.

The multicultural network has televised the race every year since 1991 and now has a new 10-year contract.

The decision by SBS to broadcast the Tour has been a key factor as Australian cycling's ongoing explosion in popularity.

SBS started with half-hour daily highlights shows and now does live telecasts of each stage.

As part of the ongoing deal, the network also has the rights to Paris-Roubaix and the Tour of Spain.
