Indonesian police have sent a special operations team to find and capture a dangerous terrorist who escaped a north Sumatra prison last week.

About , when a riot broke out last Thursday. Most escapees have been re-captured but among those still on the run is Fadli Sadama.

He has been arrested for terrorism charges three times and was caught trading drugs for guns in Malaysia in 2010.

General Timor Pradopo, the national police chief, says a special operation has been launched to catch the escapees.

"Especially him, he is dangerous... I think this is our objective, and it needs special measures," he said.

The International Crisis Group describes Sadama as smart and dangerous.
