NEW YORK (AP) — John Liu, the head of Google Inc.'s China business, is resigning from his post after six years, the online search leader said on Monday.

Liu will be replaced by Scott Beaumont in mid-August. Beaumont had been heading Google's partnership business in Europe, the company said in an e-mailed statement.

Shares of Mountain View, Calif.-based Google slid $1.55 to $921.45 in morning trading.
