SCRIPT:

NEW DETAILS ARE COMING OUT ABOUT THE CRASH OF ASIANA AIRLINES FLIGHT 214, EVEN AS PARTS OF THE PLANE ARE REMOVED FROM THE RUNWAY IN SAN FRANCISCO.

THE NATIONAL TRANSPORTATION SAFETY BOARD SAYS THAT ONCE THE PLANE STOPPED, PASSENGERS WERE TOLD TO STAY IN THEIR SEATS.

AN EVACUATION WAS ORDERED 90 SECONDS LATER, WHEN FIRE WAS SPOTTED.

SOUNDBITE: (ENGLISH) Deborah Hersman, Chairwoman, National Transportation Safety Board

'We talked about in order to get certified, an aircraft manufacturer has to show that a fully-loaded aircraft can be evacuated ,fully evacuated within 90 seconds. What we saw here was that the first doors and slides weren't opened for about 90 seconds.'

TRACK-2

THE N-T-S-B SAYS SIMILAR DELAYS HAVE HAPPENED WITH EARLIER ACCIDENTS, AND IT WASN'T NECESSARILY A PROBLEM.

INVESTIGATORS ARE STILL LOOKING INTO THE PARING OF THE PILOT, WHO WAS LANDING A BOEING SEVEN-77 IN SAN FRANCISCO FOR THE FIRST TIME, AND THE CO-PILOT, ON HIS FIRST MISSION AS AN INSTRUCTOR.

ANOTHER ISSUE IS THE USE OF THE AUTO-THROTTLE, WHICH SHOULD HAVE SET THE PLANE'S SPEED, BUT MAY NOT HAVE BEEN ACTIVATED.

SOUNDBITE: (ENGLISH) Deborah Hersman, Chairwoman, National Transportation Safety Board

'In the last two and a half minutes of the flight, from the data on our flight data recorder ,we see multiple auto pilot modes and we see multiple auto throttle modes.'

TRACK-3

A DOZEN SURVIVORS REMAIN HOSPITALIZED, INCLUDING THREE FLIGHT ATTENDANTS WHO WERE THROWN FROM THE AIRCRAFT DURING THE ACCIDENT.

SOUNDBITE (ENGLISH): Dr. Margaret Knudsen, Chief of Surgery, San Francisco General Hospital

'I kept looking and said 'what is that all over them? It should have been burns but then as we looked at it later on, it looked more like road rash. They were covered with it, the front and their extremities and their back in particular..'

TRACK-4

A GROUP OF SURVIVORS AND FAMILY MEMBERS VISITED THE WRECKAGE ON WEDNESDAY.

SOUNDBITE (ENGLISH) Ben Levy, Asiana Flight 214 Survivor

'Some might become emotional, some have, started crying, others were just like in disbelief.'

TRACK-5

TWO PEOPLE DIED IN THE CRASH.

SCORES WERE HURT.
