Tasmanian police have seized six guns from two properties at Bridgewater in Hobart's northern suburbs.

All of the guns have been stolen from properties in southern Tasmania in the past month.

Police have charged a 20-year-old Claremont man with possession in connection to four of the rifles.

Detective Sergeant Nick Preshaw says investigations are continuing.

"Having one stolen firearm is concerning, but it's nice to get these stolen firearms off the street and any stolen firearm is a very important matter and we'll continue to investigate that," he said.

"Our investigation is still ongoing and I do expect to charge people in the coming weeks."
