VOICE-OVER SCRIPT:

AN INJURED KOALA WAS FOUND WITH BURNT PAWS AND SINGED FUR MONDAY FOLLOWING A MASSIVE BUSHFIRE IN AUSTRALIA.

REPORTS SAY THE FIRE HAS DESTROYED SEVEN HOMES AND WAS THREATENING A TOWN NEAR PORT LINCOLN.

LOCAL RESIDENT, CLINT WOODS FOUND THE KOALA SITTING IN THE DEBRIS OF A BURNT TREE IN A SCORCHED FIELD. HE SAYS HE GAVE THE KOALA SOME WATER BEFORE IT WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL ANIMAL HOSPITAL FOR TREATMENT.

SOUNDBITE: CLINT WOODS/ FOUND INJURED KOALA:

"Oh well, so far, I've just tried to give him a drink of water. He had a bit of a drink of water and so, yeah, but he's not looking too well really."

THE FIRE HAS DESTROYED ALMOST 5000 ACRES, BUT NO OTHER INJURIES HAVE BEEN REPORTED.
