The police corruption watchdog has recommended that charges be laid against a number of police involved in the fatal arrest of a Brazilian student in Sydney last year.

Roberto Laudisio Curti died after police fired Tasers at him 14 times in Sydney's CBD in March last year.

The Police Integrity Commission says it has handed a brief of evidence to the Director of Public Prosecutions recommending a number of the officers involved should be prosecuted.
