Direct links to the websites of Crown Casino, Tabcorp and the Tatts Group have been removed from the Responsible Gambling Awareness Week website, after the ABC raised questions about the links this week.

On the PM program on Monday the head of the Responsible Gambling Foundation, Serge Sardo, defended the links saying that Responsible Gambling Awareness week is all about working closely with the industry.

"Industry have helped us put this program together," he said.

"The message we're putting out there is that it's a joint responsibility to make sure that safe gambling environments are created within the regulatory regime that we have."

Gambling reform advocates, including Tim Costello, criticised the campaign's links with the industry.

"I think the responsible gambling week, State Government and the industry sing from the same song sheet." he said.

The Responsible Gambling Awareness Week website still lists its industry partners, but no longer has links to the webpages of all of them.

Responsible gambling awareness week runs until Sunday.
