Adelaide Magistrates Court has been told a former Mount Gambier woman allegedly murdered last year may have died of a heart attack.

The body of Jessie Anne Wilson, 24, was found by a roadside at Hillier, near Gawler, last October.

She had moved to Adelaide about three months earlier.

Dwaine Francis Airey, 39, of Munno Para West is charged with murder and had been to answer the charge.

Airey's lawyer told the court medical reports were unable to determine the cause of Ms Wilson's death, and had not ruled out a cardiac arrest.

He said he wanted to test the strength of the case against his client by cross-examining a cardiologist, pathologist and toxicologist who provided reports.

The case will return to court in a fortnight.
