Racing New South Wales is set to quiz a jockey over his relationship with a member of the Comanchero bikie gang.
Its licensing branch will interview up and coming jockey, 23-year-old Brenton Avdulla next week, over allegations that a Comanchero bikie gave him a mobile phone for the purpose of race tipping.
Last year, police had Mr Avdulla and the Comanchero under surveillance for several months, a warning was issued to the bikie and the information was passed onto racing officials.
Police say it was part of an investigation into associations between a Comanchero bikie, who was a convicted criminal, and a number of people in the thoroughbred racing industry.
No charges have been laid.
A lawyer for Mr Avdulla says his client has done nothing wrong and has since ended the friendship.
