SYDNEY (AP) — Sydney FC and its star attraction Alessandro Del Piero will play J-League side Sagan Tosu in Tosu City, Japan in a friendly on July 24.

The A-League side said Saturday that the match will come less than a week into the team's training for next season.

Australian media have speculated that the match will make former Juventus star Del Piero, who has a strong fan base in Japan, unavailable for an A-League all-star team scheduled to play Manchester United.

United is set to play July 28 in Sydney, the English Premier League champions' first visit to Australia in 14 years.
