The Brisbane coroner has ruled teenager Leanne Thompson likely ended her own life in 2006.

The 15-year-old's body was found hanging underneath the house she shared with her drug-dealer boyfriend Alexander O'Sachy and his brother Daniel at Mount Gravatt on the city's southside.

The Coroner's Court was tasked with determining whether the girl killed herself or was murdered.

Coroner John Lock this morning handed down his finding.

He said Leanne was a very troubled girl who likely ended her own life.

He said the forensic evidence did not support a neighbour's claim that she witnessed the O'Sachy brothers murder the teenager.

Mr Lock noted staffing and resourcing issues affected the Child Safety Department, but officers did the best they could in dealing with the girl.

He left it to the Child Protection Inquiry to make recommendations, including possible models of care for high-risk young people.
