The Department of Justice and Attorney-General says no more witnesses have contacted the coroner's office with information about the murder of two Sydney nurses in Queensland's Lockyer Valley in the 1970s.

A second coronial inquest into the deaths of Lorraine Wilson and Wendy Evans in 1974 was held earlier this month.

One witness is still to testify before coroner Michael Barnes can hand down his judgement.

The families of the murdered women had hoped the well-publicised case would prompt more witnesses to come forward but a department spokeswoman says that has not been the case.
