A convicted sex offender who spent three days on the run in north Queensland will face court again next month.

Tyronne Speechley, 25, escaped from a Townsville corrections facility on Monday.

He was arrested at a friend's house in Mount Isa in the state's north-west last night.

Speechley has been charged with wilful damage, burglary and the unlawful use of a vehicle.

He did not apply to bail in the Mount Isa Magistrates Court this morning.
