Police are still searching for a man who is wanted for questioning over the deaths of two women in Sydney's south west on Wednesday night.

The bloodied bodies of a 49-year-old woman and her 26-year-old daughter were discovered by the older victim's husband in their home on Paul Street in Auburn.

Police want to speak to 28-year-old Hon Rui Fu, who is the husband of the younger woman.

He is described as Asian in appearance with black hair, dark eyes and an average build.

Police say they are concerned about Mr Fu's welfare and have warned members of the public not to approach him.

Little detail has been released of how the women died as police continue to investigate the deaths.

Homicide detectives say it was a confronting scene when they arrived at the house and it could take several days before forensic examinations are complete.

Post-mortem examinations are being conducted on the bodies and police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
