An alleged gunman who shut down Brisbane's Queen Street mall earlier this year is still recovering in hospital from a gunshot wound, a court has been told.

Lee Matthew Hillier, 34, was charged with seven offences over a siege in March.

The mall was cleared by police around lunchtime after they received reports a man was walking around with a gun.

Hillier's lawyer has asserted his client's gun was not loaded.

His case was mentioned on Monday in the Brisbane Magistrates Court when it was revealed Hillier is still in a secure unit at Brisbane's Princess Alexandra Hospital.

The court heard he's still receiving treatment for a gunshot wound to his wrist sustained during a stand-off with police.

The crown has agreed to provide CCTV footage of the alleged incident to the defence by May 13.

The matter will be mentioned again on May 20.
